I'm going to make this simple---we all know about the two QB's and the great receivers. Sure---NO was fortunate to win last week with all the critical turnovers Minny had but that's football and they knocked the crap out of Brent Farve in the process and pulled out a "lucky" win. This isn't the first time that has happened in these games and teams have moved on to win the Big One.
Both of these teams were undefeated after week #13 and New Orleans won 8 consecutive road games. Granted only one playoff team in the group . During that same span of games
Indianapolis won 6 road games with 2 playoff teams in the group. Neither team had brutally tough schedules along the way.
It's unusual for me but I'm basing the main reason for my selction on the fact that ----if----in Week #14 these teams were meeting at Indianaplis---I don't think the Colts would be more than a 3 point favorite. Indy is NOW a 5.5-6 point favorite on a neutral field. Let us also not forget that Indy was very fortunate to beat the Patriots at home as 2 point faves when Belichick opted to go for it to salt the game away ( leading by 6 pts with 2 minutes left) on 4th and a yard from his own 38 yard line and failed at the attempt thus giving the ball back to Indy who got the final score winning 35-34. It so happens New Orleans destroyed the Pats 38-17 also as 2 point home favorites.
In a nutshell---both of these teams are deeply talented with great skill players and QB's who are super-talented. Neither team has what are considered great defenses, but given protection-------both Manning and Brees can exploit almost any defense.
I think this game will be close and should put both QB's squarely on display and turnovers will again be the deciding factor. New Orleans escaped last week and got the win, but they manage to live on to be in this brand new game for all the marbles------I'll take the points.
This is a 4 STAR "double unit " play for me. I remind ------this is the SuperBowl and there will be parties and alchohol flowing freely .PLEASE BET WITH YOUR HEAD AND NOT OVER IT. Enjoy the game and have a blast.....TW
